ROMANO SCAVOLINI

Romano Scavolini's credits in the film business date back to 1966, when he wrote and directed RICORDATI di HARON (known in the U.S. as THE BLIND FLY). Also producing many of his own films, he has worked with several genres. Aside from NIGHTMARE, his seldom-seen 1972 release, SPIRITS OF DEATH (a.k.a. BIANCO VESTITO PER MARIALE') stands as his only other notable horror film, although a very strange one. In l988, NIGHTMARE star Baird Stafford once again teamed up with Scavolini to film DOG TAGS, a POW/Vietnam/Rambo-ish action adventure.
Scavolini's latest film, TWO FAMILIES, was completed in 2007.
Despite his wide body of work, Scavolini will always best be remembered for creating one of the most brutal, scary, and eerie slasher films of all time: NIGHTMARE.
